back in the saddle...
After a few well-deserved days off, I am back in action and order processing is back to normal. I'll be in the studio this week finishing up some of the outstanding pre-Christmas orders that folks weren't in a rush for, and coming up with some shirts and clocks to restock the Why Louisville Store, as they apparently completely sold out of everything I consigned with them before Christmas! Plus I have a bunch of new design ideas I'll be working on, so check back often for those.
Thanks again to everyone for your support, and Happy New Year!

almost done - just one more market!!
well, the holiday frenzy is wrapping up now. i have very successfully completed 3 full weekends of markets here in new orleans, and 3 weeks of feverishly restocking, setting up makeshift "studios" in various friends' back yards. i am absolutely pooped, and i've decided I'M DONE. i'm not making any more custom orders or restocking anything for christmas at this point - i'm done. i'm exhausted!
but, it's been an incredible month of sales, and i'm ever so grateful to the folks in new orleans for all the market sales, and those around the country who ordered from my website or from the new orleans craft mafia webshop. this is the best holiday season i've had yet since i've started my crafty biz, and all the positive feedback has nourished my crafty soul. i can't wait to get back into the studio to come up with new designs and maybe even new products in the new year!
but for now, i have one last holiday market to participate in, and then i pack it all up and head back to kentucky to relax and enjoy the remainder of the holidays with my sweetie, my dad, my geriatric cat, and darla the wonder beagle. so please, if you're in new orleans, come clean me out of stock tomorrow night, ok? i have about 15 clocks, one garment rack's worth of clothes and a few dozen ornaments left... and EVERYTHING'S ON SALE! cash (or check) and carry - take it away!!

blogged again!
i just found out i've been blogged about again, this time by one of my favorite blogs - fixed gear finds! billed as "an online guide to indie and diy shopping for guys," i think it also has a lot of appeal to the queer girls who are butch-of-center (like me!). regardless, it's super cool to see my old school turntable clock featured on the site. woo hoo!
No more Christmas orders - sorry!
I am sorry to announce to all you last-minute shoppers that I am no longer taking orders through this webshop for Christmas delivery. I am completely backlogged with orders from the past week, all of which I am trying to get out by Tuesday so they will still arrive in time for Christmas. So I simply can't take any more orders and guarantee their arrival before Christmas. By all means, if you really want something, do order it - just know that it might not get there until sometime in the week after Christmas, as I'm very busy this week filling orders, shipping things out, and doing one last market on Thursday night. Friday I pack up my gear, and Saturday I drive 11 hours back up to Kentucky. So I'd say, if you order things online in the next few days, allow at least 10 days for delivery.
Folks in New Orleans can however still peruse my remaining stock and take advantage of deep discounts on Thursday, December 21st at the New Orleans Craft Mafia's Last Stop Shop Market and Party, from 6-10pm at the Big Top (1638 Clio St.). All remaining clocks will be marked down beginning at 6pm to $20 (cash and carry); all shirts will be marked down to $10, and recycled CD ornaments will be $5. I'm trying to clear out the rest of my stock so I don't have to lug it back up Kentucky with me! So come on out see what I've got left!

busy holiday season...
so, if the past few weekends are any indication, this holiday shopping season is definitely in FULL SWING!
the day after thanksgiving i did the FAT Friday Trolley Hop in Louisville, and it went better than ever. the weather was lovely, we were out there all day and into the evening, and sales were good.
then i got a report from the opening night of Craftland that the place was packed and some of my stuff was already selling! yay! wish i could have been there, but you folks up in the area really need to go check it out. (there's a short video up on the Craftland website from opening night. i didn't see any of my stuff, but it still looks like fun!)
this past saturday was the start of my New Orleans stint - the oddities bazaar at the green project. i didn't have high expectations for this event due to location, but as it turned out, sales were quite brisk and it was a fun day out in the sun by the train tracks. i got to see some old friends and set up my brand new (used) EZ-UP tent! i guess i'm a real "pro" now that i have a tent and all. [giggle]
the culmination of my efforts thus far was yesterday, at Festivus. what an amazing day! thousands of folks came out to support on a beautiful sunny winter day in the CBD, even while the Saints were playing close by in the Superdome! (and yes, we won!)
that was me, back in the corner in the chilly shade, under my tent. (i know, i really need to make a banner for the front of the tent! it's on the list.) it's not a good angle for you to see the entire inside, but i thought my setup was good. having all the clocks in that back right corner really drew folks in. and everyone was in a festive, buying mood. i had an EXCELLENT day of sales, took several custom orders which will keep me busy this next week, and made some good connections with some local businesses who are interested in carrying my stuff, which is super cool. i'm looking forward to two more sundays just like this one, the next two weeks.
and to top it off, when i got home last night, it was pointed out to me that the folks who put on festivus - marketumbrella.org - have used one of my cat clock pics to illustrate the page on the crescent city farmers' market site that promotes festivus. i know it's a little thing, but it's still cool!
so that's the report so far. i'll try to keep you updated as the shopping season continues. and thanks to everyone for all the support!
